Took a ride up to Carlisle early yesterday to have a look see. Got there at 9 am so was real nice being able to walk among the vendors without lots of crowds.
This is my 4th year of going to the show, and I was amazed by the LACK of name brand vendors. Didn't see anyone selling Saddleman or T-bags and lots of other stuff that I can't but my finger on.
The biker show was great and the guys running the obstacle course was amazing, but I'm still stuck with the impression that the show was smaller.
Could this be that it was just a week after Gettysburg?
I was up there Fri., it didn't seem smaller to me. I was there probably for the first one,(I think it was combined with "Ford" Carlisle thatyear) now that one seemed small to me. I WOULD have bought some stuff Fri., but I'm thinking of selling this bike for a Road Glide. No need to put anything else in now.
Was up there saturday, place is huge compared to Gettysburg. More vendors, used parts, bikesand the shows to watch. Just plane better and bigger then Gettysburg (except they dont sell beer). I seen at least 4 places selling T-Bags. I actully work with 2 of the people the are on the board for Gettysburg Bike Week and they went to Carlisle to get some ideas and some contacts to bring down to Gettysburg.
Was there Saturday as well, not bad
Could not have asked for better weather.
But with all due respect WideopenI can't see this event being better than Gettysburg
Didn't notice a bunch of pepole coming in from multiple states to attend this event.
Saw mostly VA and MD tags and the usual PA tags that I expected.
Definately glad they had it and any chance to run the scoot with no lid is great
I was refering to the difference between Allstar in Gettysburg and the Carlisle Fairgrounds. If you would compair the 2 (vendors, bike builders and the shows) Carlisle takes the cake(IMHO). I would assume that more out of staters come to Gettysburg because of its historical value. Maybee my opinion is tainted becauseI live in Gettysburg. Like I said even the board members went to Carlisle to get some new ideas and vendor contacts
