Well I did the SERT and SE HighFlow along with Rush slip ons with 2.5 inch baffles. While I am definately pleased with the results I did expect to gain a bit more. Im pushing 74.9 hp and 86.7 torque. I really thought the 96 would be cranking out more than that. Bike is pulling very well and throttle response is much improved. It really did help alot, i think I am a bit biased because I remeber the differance it made on my sportster. I guess a cam is in the future, but i might just do a 107" build in a few years. I really want to be up in the 90-100 hp 100-120 tq. gonna take a whole lot more money to get there, lol. All said and done I am happy and it will serve fro a few years. but i did expect more, Whats a 88 in. get with a sert and highflow?
Edit** Whew I just freaked out! I looked at stock 96 in dyno numbers from Harley and saw that I had less torque than a stock motor!! But i forgot that I'm up at 6000 feet so a 15% loss is normal. also they tuned the bike for more power throughout the power band instead of just max hp and torque numbers.
Just a tid bit of info. H-D stroked the motor to get 96 in. All you need to do now to get more cubic inches is bore the cylinders. Now if you were to flow the heads, maybe a little bit of valve work and throw in a cam you would have something that would really run. Pretty good marketing I would say by H-D. They sell you the "stock" bike for 16000-20000 and knowing full well the owner will want to hop it up. H-D made it easy to do. Now they or aftermarket can sell you the goodies you'll need to make run decent. What a concept, even though they've been doing it for years.
