well it’s more than just sound as I’ve stated. But I don’t want to drop 20 on a off the floor bike and be disappointed in that regard. I would rather get a 2017 bike with low miles with a twin cam 103.

I think the M8 sounds is more of a refined Harley sound just as the twin cam sounded more refined than the Evo. I like the twin cam. The next Harley motor will sound more refined than the M8. Eventually a Harley wont sound like a Harley lol

I am near Atlanta and found a breakout with 1600 miles with a twin cam 103 with exhaust on it already and much cheaper than a new bike.
If it's the model, color, and at a price you're happy with, you should go for it!

Take your own advice and do what your thinking in this post. You’ve been thinking TC this whole thread.

I replied similarly in a different topic (was in your position and had to decide). I would get the Twin Cam. It will be cheaper (saved money could be spent on modifications), you'll get a properly sized fuel tank (better looking as well), it'll have a proper speedo with a needle (not that digital....."whatever"), better access to the battery, better looking swing arm. The oil tank on the first Breakout is not fake, s a real thing. Oh, and at last..... better sounding engine, M8 sounded somehow "sterile" to me. The only benefit of the M8 is a better performance (not a real issue for me as I've got 990 Adventure for fun- that one also sounds like a bag of spanners). And if you won't be happy, you can sell it and buy the M8. Sorry if I hurt the feelings of the "new" Breakout owners, I didn't mean it. It definitely is a more modern bike with some improvements, it's just not for me. I'm not a hard core HD fan I don't get upset when someone says something against it (some do just like BMW owners)- say something anti HD/BMW and it is like declaring a war against me, and bought my Breakout last year at the age of 44, all I wrote is just my view.

Not that it matters to me personally, but almost every time someone has complimented my carbed Sportster, it's been because of it's sound at idle compared to more modern Harley's with FI and most foreign bikes. It idles much slower than the Evo in the video. I don't have a tach but it almost sounds like maybe a 100 rpm makes a slow rythmic
po to po to po to po to sound. And when I bring it back to the garage, my daughter can always tell it's me coming up the road and not some other motorcycle, it has that old school sound.
