What else shares the area??? You would be surprised on how far small fasteners travel when the take a "hike"! Looking at your measurement, it looks likes the pin/bolt or whatever would be 1/2" diameter.... So I would concentrate on things that are around that size. Good luck!!! And keep us posted.

I agree .. looked on my air compressor.. kids bikes (long shot). I did pull the bumper grill assembly off my car to replace a piece. But nothing should have been related to this clip. As long as it doesn't belong to a critical part on my bike I don't care lol. I think we covered everything. Thanks for all the suggestions.

At first glance it looked like the clip holding the pivot pin in place on the clutch and brake levers as others mentioned. But, you checked and nixed that hypothesis as well as all the others. So, about the only remaining possibility is that that e clip holds the Spurthing bearing in place so it is in a direct line with the panametric fans. If those are out of alignment you will start hearing noise from the transmission.

Looks like a jiffy stand pin retainer. Part # 11036.

Maybe you don't have passenger pegs because the retainer e clips fell off.
