I made a post over 10 years ago, #26, under "EPA Killed MY Harley", about doing this very thing.
I called it Electro-hydraulic, or linear-activated. My way would eliminate a lot of moving parts, save fuel, and increase HP.

How many threads are out there about secret harley patents people found? This was really big during carbed days, then you had the water cooled secret that were leaked out. Do we get one of these every year I wonder?
From what I've read the new Revolution motor is designed to be modular, allowing several configurations and sizes. Could these VVT heads be an option for the Revolution instead of an entirely new motor design? Maybe they are planning to put the Revolution into all of their bikes with various mods and options, including VVT.
