would you mind sending some pics of what you are up against? I recently used one of those Hammocks on a loaner and my wife loved it....i am thinking about buying one for extended trips on my SG
i opened up the big long grey electrical box under the gas tank and fed both my GPS wire and my front camera wire through there...the wires came out with a handful of others and doesn't look like I made enough of a change where a seat would not fit properly, in other words, if I were to worry about my camera wires, I'd be worried about the other wires that were there prior
Here's a pic of where the two cables I added come out from the service box under the gas tank
Just wish I had known before hd put on the hammock seat it was too tight! Never had a hd that wasnt modified in some ways, garbage to some is MY ride , set up to go wherever and tow a camper, plugs for heated gear w led lights too! Just wanted to share the pan is alot larger then stock pan and other brands might be a better choice!!
I think about stuff like this every time I try a new seat, sucks to have to deal with it after the fact. So in your post above you said HD dealer installed the seat? Shouldn't they have noticed the pan was pinching the wires then?
The first time I was in service they said it was a bad switch in tourpak, second time last month it was seat bolt came out and wire got pinched, as I inspect seat and see rub Mark's on pan I thought it was a no brainers, take care of their customers, we bought the seat in November last year, ! Dealer says its customers error! And I did add bunch of stuff ! Ride everyday, tomarrow we might not be able too! Counting blessings!
