NOTE: this is not yet-another-newbie-what-exhaust-should-I-buy thread.
I'm looking to replace the mufflers on my '08 FXDL, 96 CI TC, stock
except for Screaming Eagle mufflers. They're OK but they're just too quiet.
I'm looking for objective, NOT subjective, comments on different exhaust
vendors' offerings, hopefully to help narrow down some choices.
What I am mostly interested in is volume. I want nice deep-sounding exhaust,
but I want the right amount of loudness too.
Based on the scale below (populated with my current findings), where would you place your after-market exhaust?
Also interested if the exhaust note is deep or "shrill".
I'm hoping for something in the '8' range, nice and deep.
Don't change the exhaust. Do some headwork, bump the compression, and change the cams. You won't believe the difference this will make as far as the performance & the sound. If you just change out the exhaust you will be disappointed.
