I turned 70 in August. Been riding since I was 15 and knowing when to change up to another type of thrill, comes with living through all the trials that got you to 70. This last November I decided to try a sidecar rig as a winter restoration project. Guess what???? Since I got the sidecar back on the road, I rarely ride the Limited. I enjoy the slower pace the sidecar encourages you to take. Smaller, less traveled roads. Tree lined avenues. And all the waving and giggles that seem to follow... And now Lola, our short Jack Russell can go along with the wife and I on those travels! In other words, they are a new experience. Learning how different they handle from a normal motorcycle, and learning those new skills, are keeping me on my toes and keeping me from fading into DUST. Good luck with your decisions. Stay tough and (DON'T LET THE OLD MAN IN.).
Nope; no trike for me. It kills the "essence" of motorcycling. When I can no longer handle my King, I will downsize to a Softail or Low Rider. When THAT gets too big, I will get a convertible 'Vette.
I'm with you.... Once I'm no longer comfortable on two wheels (for whatever reason) I'll own a convertible. I have zero interest in a trike.
When my mother finally got past I was keeping a motorcycle she started pushing at me to get one of those, Baltimore at the time used them heavily for parking **** rigs and they were always coming for sale.
Knew in my heart only reason she did was so I could run all her knick knack errands with that box to haul ****.
That aside had an old friend who was a fiend for those, he had a barn full on a farm out in nowhere Ohio, always wondered what came of them.

We have a 'Vette and a SSR (both convertibles) but they're not the same as, nor a replacement for a bike or a trike.
A reasonable compromise might be a Slingshot.

Slingshot is a fad toy, no way I'd ever buy one. Once you had it good luck getting rid of it. If I ever thought about getting 3 wheels it would be a CanAm. But I'm with Dicky... 2 wheels or 4... Will never go to 3
