Ive always wished I had kept my 84 FXST and decided to see what the books are valuing them at. The difference between KBB and NADA is pretty big.
High KBB is about $6,500.00 and NADA is about $19,000.00.
I guess KBB is geared more for buyers and NADA is for sellers.
Dealers always like to show me online reports of what my vehicle/bike is worth (not much apparently, lol) and online reports of what I'm thinking about buying is worth (a lot apparently).
Strange thing is, they're always from two different sites. I don't understand it (scratches head) lol
I've spent a lot of time on NADA & KBB recently and the numbers vary bike to bike. I feel like NADA is closer to real selling prices than KBB, at least in my area anyway.
I was considering a bike last week and looked it up before I went to negotiate with the seller. NADA listed it between $1320 & $1780, KBB listed it at $2200. I rode away on the bike for $1300 cash.
