Anybody use or seen these covers? Actually looks ok. Appears to secure into the gap around the face of the radio. I have a 7000. Be nice to have a quick on/off cover.
Kinda wondering what the purpose is. The screen and buttons are "weather-sealed" already and that's what this cover is covering. I am more concerned about the water that goes between the head unit and bezel, between the inner and outer fairing around the windshield. I've ridden in heavy rain without anything covering the screen and the head unit still works great even when there's water on it.
Just a cover to prevent water from getting on the face. Not sure what that "weather-sealed" term equates to from a protection standpoint. A quick search turned up some folks talking to Sony saying not to get the screen wet as it is not waterproof - while others have gotten it wet without issue. Maybe the face is sealed, but not the box.
Good write up on wrapping. I'll give that a go for good measure.
