Sounds like a good time to start measuring miles per tank.

Kudos to those who said no fuel..........gauge showed fuel, over a quater tank, distance to empty was 90 miles, tank was empty.

Dealer changed the fuel sending unit ....all is good.
Thanks for taking the time to let everyone know what the problem was. Most members don't have the courtesy to do that.

could be worse, my neighbor bought a new Porsche 911 turbo S last year, somewhere around $160k. drive it home from the dealer, car wouldn't start again to show his wife what he bought.

It got towed back to the dealer, they had it for about a month. they ended up replacing the wiring harness. it had a ground short they couldn't find.

I had a good friend ride a new 2016 roadglide from Arkansas to Arizona . Somewhere in the heat of the desert it cooked the rear cyclinder. The local harley dealer picked it up and took it to the dealership. They wouldnt honor the warranty there because it had aftermarket slip on mufflers . The dealer in Arkansas had to go pick it up it was a big mess that he finally got worked out.

y22c..... I tell all newcomers and inexperienced riders to know and understand your fuel system. That is KNOW how large your tank is, how many miles can you get on a tank, never trust the fuel gage, reset and use your odometer on fill ups. I use a fuel tracking app called Simply Auto to track my fuel. I know my tank is 6 gallons, I get around 200 miles per tank on local riding and round town. Was getting around 240-250 per tank on our trip. I do not trust the fuel gage....that is only a rough guesstimator for me. I trust my odometer. And yes I get real **** on my fuel tracking! But then I've never run out of fuel with this one!!!
So I recommend you track your fuel, useage, mileage, and understand it!!! Good Luck!!!

You would think that a fuel gauge would be reliable by now.
My Evo fuel gauge still works flawlessly after 27 years, and I still occasionally use the "unscrew and look" system, just like on my Shovelhead (no gauge).
