I made the switch a couple years ago. I'm so used to wearing it all the time now, when I put on my half helmet when I'm in Myrtle Beach, I feel naked. I used to go without a helmet down there. Age & a new grandson has made me a bit more ATGATT now. LOL.

I have all 3 styles for 3 different types of rides. I still need to rig some sort of headset in my new Shoei Neotec II but I always wear one.

FF is pretty much my preference w/ every helmet (since early 80's). Bell makes good stuff & I tried their modular FF once, but found the shield wouldn't stay up/locked. Not a big issue, only used when traveling in low-speed areas (town/neighborhood), but just enough to be annoying. Ended up returning helmet & now wear Nexx - best one I've owned to date. You get over the negative nannies (FF & helmets in general are for pussies = NOT) real quick w/ added comfort, protection & low noise. I no longer get post-ride headache's fm wind/noise & tinnitus flares. Enjoy!

I went from a Bell Vortex that I loved, to a Bell Qualifier Delux (for the photochromatic shield).

The QD did not fit my head very well, it has a rounder shape than the Vortex. I would get a hot spot on my forehead when wearing it and headaches after several hours of riding.

I switched to a Bell RS2, which uses the same shields as the Vortex and QD and it has a more oval shape that fits me better.

If you are happy and feel comfortable with a full face helmet, it is your butt.

I used to wear a half, but mostly went full face for a bluetooth unit setup for the tunes. One of my biggest concerns was the heat, I went with a Biltwell Lanesplitter and am pretty happy with it. The heat isnt any different than a half really. I wouldn't go back now.

I wear a carbon fiber skull cap when it is above 70 degrees.

Full face goes with me on multi day trips, in the rain, or in the cold. Shoei Neotec 2

Wear a full face or modular for a few years and then examine the visor. Even with Lexan high-impact polycarbonate, you'll be amazed at all the pits, scuffs, and cracks.

I don't want to get any uglier than I am now.
