Hello, i have purchased an 06 street glide. It has a 2 up seat, little bulky for my liking. I stand 5 ft 9 and curious about a recommended seat to look into. Like to do a solo seat, something comfy. I do like the feel of the oem seat for the rider, but no need for passenger pillion attached or otherwise.
Look at Mustang , I had a Daytripper , but only good for a couple hrs , bought a 2 piece mustang standard , backrest recommended , now I can ride all day .
Look at the mustang wide touring solo. Best solo ive ridden on.
Agreed. This is what I currently have on my Road Glide.
I was also very happy with the Harley solo seat that I had on my Street Glide. Sat lower than OEM, took about 1k miles to break in before it really felt comfortable though. After break in I could easily do 220-250 miles before wanting to stretch a bit (which worked out perfectly as I would need gas about then)
I have a Harley solo that was really cheaply made and let a lot of heat through, tried that one for about 2000 miles then went to a Sargent solo, didn't like it, went to a Saddlemen Dominator solo, I believe it's starting to break in or my butt started to break in, it's a lot cooler riding than the Harley solo. The Saddlemen moved me forward 1" and up about 1.5 or 2" which is how I like it, more on top of the bike than in it.
I recently went on a 250 mile ride and it started to hurt at around the 220 mile mark, not really bad but I started squirming a bit but could move around to stop it. It's way different now than the first time I rode with it, it hurt within the first 15 miles. I'm going to give it a few hundred miles more then try a Mustang if this doesn't work. I'm going broke, make sure to buy one from someone who gives you a trial period, my local HD dealer wouldn't let me exchange the Saddlemen once he rang it up.
I've been running the Harley Low Profile Solo Touring seat.
Absolutely love it. Very comfortable and lowered me down about an inch so I can reach the ground better.
No problem doing 300 to 400 mile days on it.
Looks great too.

Same seat I have on my SGS. Have over 30,000 miles on it and still love it.
