I have a stock seat on my 2018 street glide
and I bought the HD drivers back rest and its
great it has the remote lever on the left
side, its nice being able to adjust it while your
riding and it works great when you backing your bike up because you can push hard with your legs and your back has good support while moving it. I take it off when someone is on the back cause there isnt much room between the drivers and passenger back rest.
It was money well spent.
D.
Tried one once on my 03 RK, didn't like it. Now years later, just bought one to try again, but won't be using it till I shovel the damn snow out of the driveway. Probably 40 times of that damn shoveling til spring.
Love my Mustang seat with removable back rest. I can leave it in the bag for short hops (50-75 miles). If it is going to be more, then I pull it out and plug it in. See what I did there?
I have a Mustang backrest too. I set it where I like and I literally red loctited the set screw into place. Never understood the Harley adjustable backrest Rube Goldberg machine. Set it and forget it.
I see you already decided to call. So all I can do is pig pile on that it is a great relief. It takes the weight off your shoulders and lower back. It also anchors you in the seat which makes you feel more connected in the twisties. It adds another connection point to the bike, so handling becomes instinctive.
Ive had both, the fixed and the adjustable. Angle and support for me was better with the fixed. My buddy finds his adjustable angle is better for him. Sit on both before you order. Once set, you'll not move it. I had to adjust my base once, then all was good. The adjustable allows you to move it, but I never found that I used that feature when touring, even for a month.
But, I will not tour without one. With it, I do not even think about it, it is just there. No issue for the wife getting on or off.
You will not be disappointed. You will find that the miles just disappear beneath your wheels. Go for it. Of all the mods, this one has little risk and huge benefits.

I adjust mine on the fly, even slide it up or down, but the more I use it the more I leave it alone. The adjusting bolt cant run out. It stops on mine. And my weight against it prevents it from moving.
