I'm having trouble figuring the BEST tie down points for my 2020 FLH.
Front - I wrap a 2" soft strap around the fork lowers un sprung load.
Works, but not perfect as there some minor, minor contact by strap in the bottom of the brake caliper hydraulic line connector, area, I don't find pressure on the fitting but the strap is too close for my liking.
Rear - I wrap a 2" soft strap around the rear lower frame corners also un sprung load.
Works, but not perfect because the left strap contacts the left heat shield corner just a little bit.
What are your most ideal tie down points for your 2014 and up FLH?
My saved photos are HEIC which are not accepted as an attachment type, once I figure out how to convert these to jpeg, I'll attache a few photos.
I'm using a Zpro MCZ 1200 trailer with a condor chock, Chock holds the bike well but bike still needs a good bit more support to keep it from moving. I've decided to use Mac's Tied Downs as my preferred strap and ratchet. Awesome product. Just trying to get the best places on my bike to strap to.
Are those the eyes that mount to the front tank bolts? I can search HD for these, would you have a link, photo, or other for these? Do you use these for both front and rear? Thanks
H-D and Kuryakyn (and probably a few others) make these for specific bikes.
I've had them on my last two FLH's and they work very well.
For the rear of my bike I use short tie straps looped around the bottoms of the saddlebag guard rails and hooked into E-Z tracks as I do the front tie-down straps.
