Put some cheap Chinese heated grips on one of my bikes. I think they cost me $25. Been working for three years in the rain, snow, cold, no problems. Installing some KOSO grips on my new KTM. We'll see how that works out. I also have some Gerbings XL heated gloves which I have never used (still like new in packaging) because I find them too big, but man they're really warm.

I installed "Heat Demon" heated grip inserts on my 08 and have had them for a while. The advantages are that you can use whatever grip you want and you also are not subject to big gaudy gloves. On a brisk morning or evening you can wear a decent thin riding glove and have four heat settings for comfort. Even if you ride during the winter months and want to wear a thicker glove the heat will still radiate into your glove.....

i've used both....gloves are great and keep the hands nice and toasty....grips are very convenient, but ya have to wear the right gloves and they don't heat the whole hand....still nice though

I currently have Heat Demons inserts, with Avon Custom Contour grips. The Heat Demons work well, but when it gets below say 50, and you're in the wind, they kind of tap out. With heated gloves, they're good down to below freezing. Since I love the Avon Custom Contour grips, and they make a heated version of them, I've got a set coming which I will install over the winter. I'll report back once Reaper comes out of her winter sleep, which is as soon as the snow/ice are off the roads, and we've had at least one good rain to wash the salt off the streets. It will still be pretty cold, so I'll get to give them a decent test.

Cheers!

We had the Willie G heated grips installed on my wife's '20 Iron 883. They have 6 different heat settings and work awesome. She is always cold so they were a must have. We also have heated gloves that she wears when the temps drop below 50. The gloves are pretty think and the grips still radiate heat through the gloves.

I had heated grips on my 14 ultra and found them handy but one side seemed to work/heat better than the other, not sure why. Riding a SGS now and don’t have heated grips. After my experience with the ultra I’ll (someday) get heated gloves rather than grips.

Also, I guess I was wrong back then but I thought I was unable to change the grips out, thought I had to change out the whole sh-bang, wiring and all. Oh well.

A few years ago I bought Aerostich Heated Grip Wraps. The idea being
to not to be tied to one type of grip.
They worked really well; off/low/hi.
Man, were they warm just on low.
Over the summer I could 'unwrap them and unplug them' because I
didn't need them in warm weather.
I don't do much cold weather riding now...................

This is a common issue due to the left grip is mounted directly to the handle bars and the right grip being a part of the throttle assembly.

I tried the battery operated heated gloves which were OK but not a good option for me. My primary use for the Limited is touring and they took up more space than I preferred. And since they were not used regularly the batteries didn't have much life when I needed them. This may have been my fault as I may have not charged them. Personally I would stick with heated grips, they are always there when I need them.

Got a set of take off heated grips and put them on the Ultra Classic a couple weeks ago.

It was 33 degrees this morning when I rode to work. Had my vented summer gloves on and the heated grips set to 2. Hands were toasty warm.
