Something just doesn't sound right, I demo'd the bike yesterday and could flat foot it with my 30" inseam. The PA had the standard seat in the low position and tbe ARH was not active, with it active I was flat footed with a slightly bent knee. Compared to my K16GT the bike is small light and flickable, definitely not huge. I have to say Harley did a great job on the bike and if I was on anything but a K16GT I would of signed the papers yesterday, I think I might be ruined by the K16GT six cylinder. I might still end up with one but I need to see what the aftermarket comes up with to address a few little issues I have.
I know. I thought the bike looked small in the pictures and videos but it's much larger and wider in person. It must've been in the highest setting and had a tall seat or something. They also said they aren't getting any standard models in, only Specials. Who cares, though. I won't be taking a second look.

That's too bad. You don't know what you are missing.

Oh really? You know what I want, need, desire, and understand? You have my best interest in mind? You think I don't know what I'm missing? I hadn't realized I was being forced to buy it.
I looked at it closely. I've read and researched everything on it. I even sat on it. It's large, ugly, heavy, and expensive. Why the hell would you be offended by what I have chosen to do with MY money and MY life? Good Lord no one can ever have a dissenting opinion on this forum.

Wow dude, no need to get all stirred up. All I said was you don't know what you're missing. Especially since all you've done is sit on it. That only works with chairs.
I didn't mean for my post to be negative. I love the height,
I didn't take it that way but inseam challenged riders will look for a way to lower a too tall bike. If I can't "flat foot" when I'm sitting on a bike, I don't feel like I have full control of the bike when I'm stopped. If I bought a new BMW Boxer GS, it would have the Low suspension package which is included with the Premium package, which includes a bunch of stuff that I don't want or need. I have owned two Boxer GSs, and may buy a Pan America next year.
Enjoy your new bike.

Your life choices are of course your own, but calling the Pan America heavy and expensive is not correct. It's lighter than a Sportster and cheaper than a BMW GS. Large and ugly are subjective though.
People like what they like. Thats why there are so many different bikes out there. It needs to do well for Harley. I had a V Strom years sgo. I didnt keep it. All bikes are a compromise.
