Default SPLAAAAAAAT!

If you have a weak stomach, don't read any further.... Something really big and gross hit me, or I hit it, Friday evening on the way to a supper run. Now I have had great big bugs hit the windscreen before, but this thing was huge. The best way I can describe it would be a waterballoon filled with bloodhiting you on the fairing at 70mph.

I'm not kidding. It was blood and what looked to be bug parts. My wife thinks it was a bird but there were no feathers. I'm glad it hit the fairing first before it splattered up on the shield, otherwise it would have nailed me.

Does anyone have any theories on what flavor of insect or bird this could have been? It did not make a sound when it hit, just SPLAAAT!

Yuck,

FD

Probably an engorged tick that flew off a pickup bed-bound doggie.
