It's all just an elusive way to charge more than the price they advertise. Nothing really new. This kind of deception has been going on for years. Just new names for the money they pile on to what they charge.
I've turned down 10 times more "deals" than I've accepted from dealers. Yeah, it's the ultimate feeling to ride away on a new bike, but it's also a great feeling to walk away from an offer when you know the dealer can do better.
I love saying "nope." It's also fun to say, "well, I'll think about it," and then wait for the call from the same salesman the next day or next week.
AFAIC companies can stick their surcharges up their fudge tunnels.
I only buy Low mile used vehicles from private owners. That's where you get the best deals no bulshit fees or surcharges.
even the word surcharge pimmeeoff.
Surcharges my happy ***. I spoke to a local dealer this week. Crystal River HD. I told them what I would pay on a new Street Glide Special based off of what I KNOW other dealers have sold them for within the past 6 months. Their sales manager told me "oh, our invoice is more than that". Bullshit, good bye not interested. Well why don't you come in and talk? Because I have no desire to waste my time. Salesman called me this passed Thursday, "still in the market?" yes I am.. oh come on it... on hell no.. I have no interest in buying a bike from your stealership. CLICK. They won't be calling me again. Asswipes.
People scream about the “surcharges”…yet are all onboard with paying 1,000s for ESPs, that by definition 75% of buyers loose money on. a couple 100 for wheel coverage.
