I pretty much agree with the majority; No harm no foul. But I see you're point though, If it was a classic car sitting there, I would bet she wouldn't get her butt within 10 feet before someone stopped her, If she would even try. Next time, go and steal one of the "Do not Sit" sign's the dealer puts on bikes in the showroom. ( Of course, I ignore those too[&:])
Last thing I'd wanna do is cuss out granny for sitting on my scoot. Not everyone understands the connection we have with our bikes, so I try to be accomodatingin certain cases. 20-year old punk kid I'll simply tell to get off, an 80-year old lady I'd help her on and offer her a ride.
Granted, she should have asked, but I guess I would have just walked over and helped her off the bike after the pic (make sure it didn't dump over on to her). After that, I (and this is just me) would have probably asked her if she rode, had ever rode, good memories of a bike (she sure looks pretty comfy up there), and let her really enjoy the moment. Most likely, she would have been like "I remember when these were all single cylinder..."
Her getting on your bike, speaks well of a great looking scoot, obviously she must have really liked how it looked, and just wanted to collect a memory.
Are there signs near or on the bikes stating NOT TO SIT ON THE MOTORCYCLES? For people who may be at a bike show for the first time or for some other reason may think that the bikes displayed are there for spectators to sit on, enjoy and get their picture taken on.
I wouldn't yap at an 80 yr old either...Probably would have snapped a picture myself...But... when I stop and really think about it ... Is there really a difference between a 30 yr old sitting on your bike to snap a pic (not doing any harm) and an 80 yr old sitting on your bike to snap a pic (not doing any harm)???
Either scenario would create fireworks if (heaven forbid) they scratched the paint or something, but really... if the person was younger ... You'd be in their face because of the blatant disrespect for your property ... Tell me then, why is it different when it's an elderly person? I'm just as guilty as the rest of you...Iprobablywould just bite my tonge and say nothing.

Younger or older I wouldn't snap if they were respecting. If it is a young punk who is sitting on it and putting his feet all over it thinking it is a crotch rocket then we would have a problem. Again, if it is a female, I would offer her a ride, after all that is why my road name is "Taxi".

Respect for your elders..whether they're family or not. If some 80 year old (guy or gal) wanted to sit on my bike, i'd love for them to. If they scratched the paint, I wouldn't throw a fit either..then again, I don't have a show bike and mine gets small scratches from time to time..no biggie. Now if a 30 year old sat on it (without my permission) and scratched the paint, i'd be pissed because they didn't have my permission, but if I had given them permission and they scratched it I wouldn't get mad..maybe just a little upset at myself.

about people sitting on your bike without permission. But what do you do when an 80 year old woman hops on your bike to get her picture taken? This happened to my Bro yesterday while his bike was in a Bike Show. We just stared in amazement. Finally one of the Officials asked her to get off.
By the look on her face, I'd say she may already have done so!
I would have tackled grandma and taken her to the mat...then when she was done kickin my *** I woulda spit in her face
She's one of the few that could have gotten away with it and I probably wouldn't have said a thing unless she tried taking it up off the stand. I woulda kept a close eye on her though...fortunately no one's ever actually hopped on my scoot without asking first so I'm gonna act tough and say I'd kick their ***.
