First thing a lawyer is probably going to tell you is don't talk about the case on social media.

Excellent advice here. Don't discuss your condition with anyone but your doctors and attorney. I contacted my lawyer the day after I was released from the hospital. When I told him I had six broken bones and a separated shoulder, the senior partner visited me that day at home, took pictures of my injuries, got me to sign a release so they could access medical records and handled everything after that.
Even posting something like "I'm pretty much okay" on a site like this can be used by an insurance company against you.

Mine was similar. Truck ran the stop sign Feb 2014 and we settled May 2017. It was tough because it involved a D.O.T. pick up truck.
The first attorneys (big on TV here,) showed so little interest that I could only talk to a para-legal when I called with questions. Still early, I went with an established one man operation who showed up at a bike event to give out his card. He stuck with it.
Today, I'd Google SuperLawyers.com to see a list of attorneys recognized by their peer reviews as the top in their profession in your area as a start.
