Default Damn varmints

Looked over the bike before I took it out for a ride and had no batwing light/turn signal. Checked the connections and they were fine. Contacted Custom Dynamics, sent me troubleshooting diagram, same issue. Traced the wire and found out a damn varmint setup camp behind the bating and they chewed the A/W Converter for the batwing light/turn signal. New converter will be here tomorrow. Traps and granules are setup everywhere in the garage!

This doesn't look normal

Stuffed inside the batwing

Traps and granules are bait, it attracts them. Use ultrasonic repellers!

Have one of those as well. I'm still mad about the situation that I forgot to mention it in my post. Thank you...

When I bought my newest Ultra Limited, it only had 2,000 miles on it, so it sat in the guys garage, never ridden. Couple of weeks ago when I pulled off my fairing to install my new suspension and chrome forks, there were 2 mouse nests in the fairing! Didn't come from my shop because I didn't recognize any of the material the little **** made in his nest.

Luckily they didn't chew any wires, but yea, caught me by surprise.

Moth ***** work very well , keep them in my shop and my shed , haven't had an issue yet . I keep a couple at each corner , you get used to the smell , after awhile , you don't even smell them .

Fortunately, I live next door to the proverbial "crazy cat lady" and her cats roam all over. As a result, I haven't seen a mouse around here in years.

Thing is, a lot of vehicle manufacturers in "going green" have switched to wiring insulation made from soy-based plastic, and the little vermin find the stuff quite tasty.

Back when we were feeding deer and birds the other "critters" come for dinner also.

We had wild turkeys, raccoons, opossums, bats, chipmunks, groundhogs, bees and mice!

We had two vehicles damaged inside the garage (but no bikes) and I think a groundhog bit through the wiring harness of my oil level sensor on my Avalanche.
Thankfully insurance covered the excessive repairs so I started taking precautions to prevent future damages.

Stopped feeding all of them and occasionally see deer and turkey "passing through" the property but cut off the feed source and most of your problems will disappear.

I still use the cheap little black mouse traps, moth *****, peppermint and outdoor mice bait stations just as PM.

+1 on ultrasonic pet repellent. Specially if you live out in the country and in the wintertime when your bike can sit for days.

To the OP, you were a victim of FMI (field mouse intrusion). That sucks, but your preventive measures should help.

My garage always has old fashioned traps set up, baited with peanut butter. I have three traps kept near the bike, the rest in the corners. They work well. I can go for months without any "victims", then suddenly bag several a week.
When the bike hibernates for the winter, I take the seat off and store it in the house. Reason being, it allows me the ability to frequently lift the cover and check for FMI. If the seat was on, one of the little bastards could build a nest under it, and I wouldn't know. Obviously, taking a fairing off for the winter isn't practical, so finding FMI there is harder.

I also put some steel wool in the ends of the mufflers for hibernation, the little vermin could build a nest in the exhaust. That did happen with my boat once, I fired it up in the spring with the garden hose hooked to muffs, and BOOM, a mouse nest came flying out of the exhaust, with baby mice still inside it.
