Nice V-Rod. Enjoy. You don't see too many on the road nowadays. At least not in these parts.

Real nice ride. Welcome back. I just recently rejoined the fold myself. I went over to the dark side and rode an Indian Chieftain Dark Horse for a little over 4 years. Sold it when the blue book was more than I paid for it and bought a 2011 Sportster 1200 Custom with 3800 miles on it. The Sportster is the smallest bike I’ve owned since high school (1979) when I rode a Kawasaki KZ650. My first Harley was an 82 Electra Glide. It’s taken some getting used to, but I like it. I always wanted to ride a V-Rod to see how fast they run.

Welcome back. Friend of mine had one and used to do a bit of street racing with his. From what I heard he made a fair amount of money with that. Enjoy!

Yeah, but all the torque is at the wrong end of the tachometer!
I had to learn how to launch those bikes back when they first came out. Once its on the pipes though, watch out.....
Congrats (again!)

Thanks! You are right regarding the low-end torque. I don’t think the open pipes are doing any favors for that. I have the more sedate Screamin’ Eagle slip-ons in a box that came with the bike. I may throw them on and see how I like them. I do like the look of the straight pipes.Originally Posted by Stiggy;[url=tel:20812485

Anyone know what brand those pipes are? I’ve seen pictures of other bikes just like this that have the same pipes. Just not sure who makes them. Maybe there are baffles available for them.

I rode one the first year they came out. Quick bike. I just could never get past the styling of the bike or the seating position.

Same here, I rode one back when they were a brand new model and could barely reach the pegs. I do think they look cool though.Originally Posted by Bubba Zanetti

Good looking V Rod.
The value proposition is compelling for those unmolested early year models. Its funny how sometimes a bike that when it was released and didn't garner much appreciation then years later becomes desirable.
Enjoy the ride!
