Walk through hour.
The area at the museum is safe. But going a few streets either direction at night is on you. There will be no LEO protection.
Shooting in Milwaukee up over 40% again.
Carry a gun, because a cop is too heavy.

Anyway, I've always wanted to take a trip up there. Looks like there is a lot of history there. I can see it being easy to get lost for half a day at least.
My thing is, in a place like that, I'd stop and stare at a single bike for 5 or 10 minutes. I spent nearly 3 hours in the museum in Leaky, TX a couple years back. I can't get enough of the old bikes and the history. And those were mostly European.

I've been there... 2 hours I was through it. It was ok. I wouldn't go back. If the old bikes and reading are your thing, plan a little longer. Grab a bite in the restraunt too. As someone else mentioned... Sketchy area aound there.

I agree..... be prepared to spend some time there. They have a lot of cool stuff there. They even had a display on the Jack Pine Enduro that is held here in Michigan since 1923! They had a couple of old Jack Pine bikes in there as well.
Can't say anything about current conditions around there....when we went there, we did not have all the issues and problems they have today. And I was carrying.

Been there several times (usually go there once a year when in Chicago..I rent a car and do a quick drive there).

Last was in 2019 and it always takes me about 2 hours to go through all, and as many already said, try to grab something to eat at the restaurants ' cause the food is good.

The Shop is well stocked with clothing and memorabilia you are not going to find anywhere else.

As for the safety issues, I never had a single problem there (but cannot state about current conditions).

ive ridden around there a few times to go to the museum and to go to school at MATC (next to the Fiserv Forum) and yeah, some of the neighborhoods arent exactly beverly hills once you get east of Miller Park Way when taking National Ave, but not the worst. not sure id want to be there after dark though. but the last time i was at the musuem was 2018 to see if they had a 115th anniversary SGS on display, they didnt. and i stopped school in 2019. maybe things have gotten bad over the last few years.

If you haven't been there, the Barber Museum in Alabama is the holy mecca of motorcycle museums. It's got to be at least 4x bigger than the Harley museum, has practically every bike ever made, and is exquisitely maintained. It's a must-see destination for mc enthusiasts. If you spent 3 hours in Leakey, you should probably budget a week at Barber.

I don't know about all this fear mongering.

My wife and I stayed at the Hyatt last year. It was about a mile from the museum. We walked both ways. No trouble at all.

I have. I watch the channel. It's a few hours from my in-laws. Next time I go out there, I want to go to the Wheels Through Time.

New to me as well. Only a few hours from me too. Would make a nice weekend trip to see it.
