The problem is not "legit patch holders" commenting, the problem is that so many non-patch holders, never beens and want-a-beesrespond with uninformed opinions and misinformation.
If those people would just set back and let the "legit patch holders" answer the question ask,maybe they would learn some things and understand a little more about what makes up the M/C life style.

To answer runnwild1; patch holders can and do speak their mind when ever they want. They just know that they are responsible for what they say.

Ran with a club for a few years back in the UK, but wife and young kids took priority. They have a different setup over there for patch clubs. Backpatch clubs are known as "MC", while MCC denotes a "sidepatch" club. The first is your stereotypical 1%er club with all that entails. The MCC clubs are social clubs that wear their patch on their sleeve. These clubs are a bunch of guys and gals that like to ride. Family days are not unusual, barbeques, picnics, etc. Generally everybody gets along together, going to each others' rallies and parties. Just keep an eye out for a showing of rival clubs, that one can get tricky!

To start off, I am not a patch holder nor will I ever be one. I ask this question to only be informed and for my own curiosity.
Why is it a big NO NO to wear a patch on your back that says you are a part of something? I'm not talking about the patches on my back showing I was a part of a combat operation. I'm talking about some kind of club or group of individuals that like to ride together. Wild Hog style, you might say.
