Yup and I have also found 2nd when I was looking for 3rd. Brain told foot to use heel but foot took it upon itself to use toe. That'll wake ya up.
I've done that once (ok maybe more than once).
Never had the nuetral thing happen to me.
But, when I had the heel-toe-shifter on an old bikeI downshifted instead of upshifting.
Seems like it happenned in the morning when my brain-to-left-foot communication lines were still waking up and WHOOOOAA NELLY! That'll save you the price of a cup-a-joe to wake you up in the morning.

Nope, and I have never forgot to put the kickstand down either.

My dad was a meter reader when I was a kid and he always brought home some really weird ****. On one of these occasions he brought home an old bicycle that for some reason only a kid would understandit had a neutral between first and second gear. I thought that bike was pretty freaking cool cus I never had a bike with gears.

That was until I was racing up a hill, standing on the pedals as had as I could.....

Ahhhh ... Yep. Generally when a really experienced rider is around... I think she does it to me to keep me humble..
