There is another dealer only 4 miles further away from me than this one. I can ride there to get parts at the normal price. I had to get these two bearings, #11000010 M8 trap door mainshaft bearing, because no one else(including Harley) had them. It's a Harley specific part and no aftermarket supplier has them that i've found. Last time i will ever buy anything from my "local" dealer. I have also bought two bikes from them over the years. Never again. Good way to lose business over a few dollars in parts.
Its not capitalism. Capitalism means a dealer who is further away could ship me the part and I was free to buy from them even though I was not in the same area. This is wrong what Harley is doing and people need to speak up about it. If dealers can sell over list, I should be free to buy the part from someone else outside my area. If they are forcing me to buy from my local dealer, then take away the incentive for me to shop and make all the prices the same.
HD sucks for doing this. Its not capitalism. So stop saying that here. You cannot give one area of free market and protect another from free market.
You are free to buy wherever you like. No one is stopping you. Get on your bike and ride to whatever dealership you want, as far away as you can handle and buy your parts wherever you like. No one is forcing you to buy at your local dealer. It is Capitalism. You are just crying because your local isnt giving you a reach around.

its more a monopoly. hd created this by shutting down dealers and shipping. its hds way of saying f u, if you want our product youre getting raped for it.
