I felt safe in mine until my head hit the pavement..... I felt safe. Im lucky I wasnt killed.. We each march to our own tune and thats ok but for me, If its not Shoei or Arai, my head doesnt go in it..
You should invest in whatever gives you confidence. For me, they both pass the exact same ECE test rating, both weigh the same, both can be fitted. I could not find a shoei location to try a glamster and no other offering from them looked appropriate for a Harley. I feel good in any of my helmets. The two full face offer greater protection than the two 3/4 helmets.. I much much prefer the 3/4. I feel a trade off, hitting my face, I’d rather the full, avoiding accidents all together, I feel much safer and more aware of my surroundings in the 3/4.
Get this - It was a full face... One side snapped and I caught it in the teeth
Wow, thats something to think about. Alot of friends ride w/o helmets & I think they're nuts?!! The freedom is great & all but the pavement is gonna win every time!?!!

If you're worried that full-face helmets don't look "badass" enough to wear on a Harley, consider that many 1% club members now wear full-face helmets. Probably not for the same reasons that you and I would, but still...

That isn’t what I meant.. I meant I don’t like the fruit loop rainbow colored power ranger helmets or the sci-fi shaped power ranger helmets. The Bell Bullit or Shoei Glamster for example look “right” with a Harley, both full faced. Some of the alien shark fin nonsense I see the crotch splatters wearing do not.
When I was in Ohio I saw club members all the time, even worked on a few of their bikes. Moved to Florida in a town where one club was supposedly founded.. and I can count on one hand the times I’ve seen them on the road in almost 20 years. I’m in a suburb of Orlando. Maybe they’re around? I just don’t see it. There are a bunch of crotch rocket guys who wear vests.. but I think most of them say stuff like ride for Christ and stuff like that.

FYI, all that got started as a f**k you back to the cops and their favorite roust excuse that got abused a lot, the infamous helmet check stop. Also a lot do it to clown the wannabes they knew were going to emulate their every move and look, where do think the classic SOA look with the baggy knee shorts & white tennis shoe dnyo bro nonsense got started ? I knew most of the old guard in the Oakland 81 chapter, the younger guys loved playing that game.

This is the newer version of my helmet - state of the art design yet nothing flashy. I don't feel weird wearing it on my Road King or my other bikes. The doo dads are adjustable vents. I wear that helmet when I go on Christian Motorcyclist Association rides, where there's lots of diversity in bikes, riders, and gear.
yeah, nothing like having a well fitted helmet when going about 70mph for long periods.
arai has some good helmets for different head shapes.. like ,oval, long oval, round ....
This is the criteria that needs to be addressed before everything else.
Determine your head shape. Then go shopping. Arai leads the pack as far as I'm concerned when it comes to fitting and comfort.

As mentioned, wear what makes you confident. If you like your helmet that’s all that matters. In the Shoei line I really liked the Glamster.

Anything can "look" right. You just have to have the confidence and attitude to pull it off
