It was a good dealer until it was bought by the big HD dealer wanna be from Michigan I believe and caused the turmoil. A lot of good guys worked there and he managed to **** off most of them until they left and then sales plummeted.
Multi-dealers are buying them out and can only have so many franchises ,that happened to my local dealer in Vancouver,WA now gone after being here since 1946.

"Working with the corporate headquarters and other local Harley dealers, the decision was made to close the dealership as a strategic move to optimize the Harley-Davidson market."
"Windy City dealer group has agreed to honor all Heritage H-D gift cards, VIP services and assist in the completion of any outstanding service work and fulfillment of special orders."

Even here in Wisconsin , quite a few smaller dealers went bye bye because of Harley . Two local are owned by Chicago group and they are the worst dealerships in the area as far as I am concerned. At one , the sales Manger told me to,get out of his dealership because he didn't think I had any money to buy. Well went to Suburdan and bought two bikes . Madison same thing , don't waste my time stopping there anymore after a sales guy said the wrong thing . Glad Suburban, Open Road , and Wisconsin Harley are still open . House of Harley is a good one as well . When Beaver Dam shut down , a lot of people were totally pissed .

Madison has a good owner. Used to own Sauk-Prairie. One of their salesmen is an old school *******, high pressure salesman. Id give them a second chance.
Heritage was owned for a LONG time by the same person. Interestingly he didnt even ride a motorcycle that I know of, just a business man. Either wanted to retire or maybe saw the light with the motor company and sold out to a dealership conglomerate that owns a BUNCH of Chicagoland Harley dealerships. That was a couple-three years ago. That conglomerate has been closing some of its dealerships here and there. It was very sudden: heritage is closing forever next week, ok bye!
It is a sign of the times. This isn't 1960 anymore. The same thing is happening to pharmaceutical companies, your local pharmacies, John Deere dealers and many other retail businesses. The bigger these giants get the more power they command.

It's part of the new world order. Get used to it.
Imagine (or remember) what things were like in 1977. Id say were still in better shape than in the 70s. Change is inevitable. Evolve or become extinct.
