1934 VLD no doubt about it:

Bike in the OP pic has been tastefully accessorized for added utility: "buddy" seat, speedometer, front stand, crash bars, luggage rack, and fancy saddlebags. Definitely a bike owned by an enthusiast of his day.

Respectfully disagree. That's the correct decal for 1934.

ETA: agree there is something wonky about the front fender in the OP pic - that's a '30-'33 front fender:

Not uncommon for end-of-year runs to utilize leftover stock. Or, dealer replacement of damage. All else screams '34.

@DB033
I was going to ask about the front fender because the one you shared looks different. But thanks so much - I know next to nothing about motorcycles but art is art and these certainly are stunning.

Again, I don’t know anything about motorcycles, but one of the first things I thought was that the paint luster seemed a bit off from what I would expect. Not shiny. Thanks again for your input.

This is comical. I stand by my original assessment, the rear fender of the cycle in the op's photo is also 1930-33 open style with center rib. No way would I believe that both fenders had been replaced with fenders from an earlier model year? The tank decal isn't even applied correctly for a 1934 model, it should be parallel with the bottom edge of the tank and not be pointing upward at the front. Carry on!

The more I look at it I have to agree w/badger34 and admit I see '33 in there. Look at the seam in the rear fender. LOL let's agree to call it a '33/'34'ish.

I agree w/you! I posted about the rear fender just as you posted. LOL.

So the consensus then is 1931 or 1932? Not 1934?
