I dunno - I really can't harp on my Honda (Sabre). It's big, powerful, quick on the draw if you care for that sort of thing. It completely annihilates my RK off the line *and* for passing - and (sorry, I have to admit it) it's probably the most maintenance-free machine of any kind that I've ever owned. I've yet to put a nickel into it for anything other than routine stuff (although I've put many, many, many nickels into upgrades).
That said - I'm much more "satisfied" with my Harley... More content on the highway, more fascinated with the culture and the people -- Much more of an experience than a "ride" on any given ride.
Gold Wings on the other hand... I just can't do 'em... I can appreciate them for what they are, but I just can't ride 'em. But I can't get myself to say too many negative things about Hondas...
IMHO Honda has the best beginner bike on the market, for short folks, with the VLX600 Shadow.
Affordable, comfortable, 25" seat height, 60mpg, and runs right up to 85 mph.
