Default flat paint rub?

ok, so I had a fork bag on the front above the fender and I guess when they compressed the bag would touch. It did not scratch or scuff, but it made it slightly shiny!!! I do not want anything shiny on my 1200N...LOL any one have a fix for this?

Thanx,

Ron

I am no paint expert, but it has a clear coat (denim) on it and the finishing process must be some kind of sanding or buffing or something to give it a consistant finish right? there has gotta be a real fine sand paper or wet sand process or steel wool...LOL

Paint shops use a special scotch-brite material and a de-glazing compound for prep a finish for repaint, which results in a finish much like the Denim paint. There is a mat finish clear top coat used in the hot-rod world to provide a durable flat finish. Talk to a custom hot-rod painter and they may just fix you up.

0000 steel wool will do it. You can use it to take the shine off of fine furniture so it won't hurt your bike. Use it very lightly until you are satisfied with the results. Good luck!

Not to hijack the thread but it was my understanding that HD's "denim" paint was not clear coated. Is this not correct?
