We took a ride yesterday and on the way home, turning into our subdivision, a car was pulling up to the intersection a little fast and she got spooked and took a spill in a neighbor's yard.
You're wife's a trooper. No doubt about that. Was curious as to whether or not the car pulling up to the interesection a little fast saw the spill? And if so, did they stop to make sure everyone was okay?
That's the sore point in the story. The driver was my next door neighbor. She sat there for about 20 seconds and then just took off. didn't even roll the window down to ask if everything was ok.
For a guy in this situation I'd say he's got iron *****, but since she's a woman I'll just say she's one gutsy sister to get back in the saddle right after a spill. I know grown men who'll get shook up from less & use the bike's "damage" as an excuse to call a wrecker to take the bike home or to the shop. My hat's off to the lady.

As for your "neighbor" what goes around comes around. When her time of need comes around I wouldn't **** on the kunt if she was on fire... [:@][:'(]

My wife and I returned from a cold trip a couple of years ago we pulled in the driveway and she put her foot down. She was so cold she couldn't hold the bike up and it went down. I got off my bike and went to get her but she was no where in sight. There is a ditchthere about 4 feet deep and she rolled into it like a stunt man. When I got there she was climbing out of the ditch on all fours. We had a good laugh then she got on the bike and rode it up the driveway into the garage. She didn't even say an ugly word the whole time[:@]

IMO no safety police/sage advice BS is in order from us- anything that needs to be said or critiqued regarding her skills, riding habits, etc. should be worked out by you & her. Not someone in a forum who wasn't there.

JMHO...
It's cool if someone wants to critique what she did.. Neither she nor I pretend to know everything, and the tip that someone gives here might be the one that saves our a$$ one day (or someone else's a$$ that happened to read the thread). That can only be a good thing.

Sounds like your wife is a keeper, too.. I don't think I could do that without cussing once or twice.
My wife even laughed and didn't whack me with something when I started calling her "Evel Knievel".
'Course that could be the painkillers.
Good for your wife! I'm glad she's ok and that she got up and right back on. That takes some guts.
I dropped my bike the first time I was on it. [:@] I know exactly what I did wrong, I knew it before it fell. But there was nothing I could do except dive outta the way. Banged up my elbow a bit, but that's it. Got the bike back up, said "well, now that I have that over with, I don't ever have to do it again" and got right back on.
And the neighbor. [sm=WTFsgign.gif]That's terrible.

Engraved Rebellion: Inside Bundnerbike's Glam Rock II
I remember on the first day I rode with my wife after getting her license she went into a 2 wheel skid as someone cut her off on PCH, rode it out and then stopped like nothing happened. I was crapping in my pants watching in my mirror the entire time. She looked at me and said that she was glad seh took the MSF class and it paid off. I have also had several wrecks where I have picked the bike up and rode home, but not with any broken bones or serious injuries. That is one tough lady. She's a keeper.
Every time I ride with my wife I see some good habit or reaction that's the direct result of the MSF course. I can't stress enough how important it is to take the class.
I'm glad everyone mentioned is OK and still on two wheels.
Lost1: I know what you were getting at though..and I appreciate what you said! Thank you. Things can get rough in the forums sometimes.
If things get too bad I'll just sic my 'real biker' babe on 'em
No, on second thought, that's too terrible a punishment
