Why is it that most Brand X sites have a dedicated Harley bashing thread, but hardly any Harley sites have a dedicated Brand X bashing thread? Peni..., Uh, Harley envy?
The guy is correct in that Harley is an image. We all own Harleys because we want to. Most of us have owned other makes and ended up with Harleys because that's what we feel that it's the best bike made. A Harley is not the fastest bike made, but I'd much rather take a 300 mile trip on my RKC than curled up in the fetal position on a Ninja. Back to image, while riding the backroads on a trip from Michigan home to Indiana, an old (70-80) veteran was wheeling his wheelchair down the side of the street in a small town. He stopped and saluted me. He had no way of knowing that I was a vet. So I pulled over to talk to this guy. We ended up talking for almost two hours. I asked him why he saluted me, he said "you're ridin' Americian, I could tell by the sound".
And as we all know, where ever you stop here in middle America, someone will start a conversation. Either about the Harleys they've had or the Harleys they're going to get. Or, a fellow Harley rider that is now your new friend.
As stated earlier- "If I have to explain, You won't understand".
I wish I had not read the whole thing. He rants for like 20 minutes making the same argument over and over. He sounds like the lawyers he claims to detest! Anyone ever ridden a sport bike 400 miles in one day? Try it and get back to me. I'll stick with my Low Rider.
You know, it always amazes me when someone as opinionated as this guy, justifies his "opinion" by insulting other people on so many levels. His fellow Americans, any person with free will, and anyone who doesn't agree with his personal point of view....must be a lonely world this guy lives in.
Thank goodness he isn't in a political position of power....Can you imagine...OMG!
We'd all be shot or burned at the stake, or something really sinister! It's really very sad.
I know WE didn't buy our bikes because they're the fastest, or the most dependable, or the most of anything...We just like 'em...period! They have improved our lives in soooo many ways...and I don't feel the need to justify it to anybody. I'd rather be out riding than explaining WHY!
who really gives a rat ___ what this guys like and what he dont like if he had a harley he would know how we all feel he can take his thought and put it wear the sun dont shine . 05 superglide with F.I. Harley-Davidson is here to stay.
