Sorry, I'd like to help, but I can always rationalize the purchase of another bike...can't think of any real reason you shouldn't, particularly if you don't really fear the wife's wrath.
I was thinking of doing the same thing you are talking about but once I did some research it seems that numerous people have had gremlins with the aftermarket choppers. I decided to buy the Screamin Eagle Dyna instead and have been very happy with it.
I had the opposite problem though, I was trying to be rational and my wife kept insisting I buy one! I finally caved under the pressure and bought it.
I love my bike and will not give it up. BUT! I want a chopper. I have my eye on an American Ironhorse. It is used with only 1,800 miles on it. It is beautiful. I don't need it (but it has never been about "need").
Please talk me out of a frivolous purchase that will get me in trouble with my wife. (Please don't list that as a reason since I am always in trouble with my wife and I can handle it!)
You want to buy the motorcycle. You will buy the motorcycle. You want to buy the motorcycle. You will buy the motorcycle. You want to buy the motorcycle. You will buy the motorcycle. You want to buy the motorcycle. You will buy the motorcycle. You want to buy the motorcycle. You will buy the motorcycle. You want to buy the motorcycle. You will buy the motorcycle. You want to buy the motorcycle. You will buy the motorcycle. You want to buy the motorcycle. You will buy the motorcycle. You want to buy the motorcycle. You will buy the motorcycle. You want to buy the motorcycle. You will buy the motorcycle.
I don't know your situation, but you asked for it so here goes...
Can you afford it and still provide for your family? Are you in debt? Are there other priorites ahead of this like perhaps your wife's car, (if she has one), is a POS? Do you value your marriage? If you can answer these questions honestly in the negative, then what is stopping you? Think about it. What is really important?

Oh great, a practical thinker.
I'll bet you aren't really even Tom. Your his wife using his name while he is out in the garage looking for something to tinker with on his bike.
