Copart is the site you want to check out. https://www.copart.com.

Best of luck if this is what you want to pursue.
Unless I knew the builder personally and the history of the bike, I would not buy a salvage title bike. There are just too many good used bikes out there to take a chance on a salvage.

People are nervous of salvage titles. You want for yourself, go for it.

I'd look on Craigslist or Facebook for one with clean title that needs work

I've wondered about parting out sometimes. Time, room, and have to deal with people

Try a Google search on "salvage bikes". There are a few that are nationwide and generally many models to choose from. You can probably find a location near you. From what I have seen, many if not all, are damaged beyond rideability, but depending on the actual damage may still be a good source for parts to resell or build another bike over time. You would need a trailer and some sort of cart to load them.

Insurance Companies will only Write Liability Coverage for Vehicles with a "Branded" Title. As an Insurance Underwriter explained to me, "An Insurance Company already Paid Out on this Vehicle, we're not going to Pay again.

If you have the Money and live in California (don't know about other states), you can basically "Self Insure" by depositing Cash (35k) to DMV. That satisfies the insurance requirement for all your registered vehicles. Only covers you within the State.

There is a young guy on YT. "Everything's Regular". He does this, but rather than selling them, he make a raffle out of it. You only have to purchase a baseball cap from him for $50-100 and that is your ticket. Evidently he limits the number of entries and seems to be making quite the coin in doing so. Check him out I believe he uses Copart for his wrecked bikes. Not sure how registering a "salvaged" title works out for the winner of the bike though.

I dont think you can register a salvaged title. Unless I'm misunderstanding you. You can resell a salvaged bike without doing anything to it, but in order to make it street legal it needs to be repaired and inspected and as such it would receive a rebuilt title, still not very attractive to (informed) buyers. Apologies if you're already aware (but for the benefit of others.........)

As far as raffles are concerned, in order to be legal they have to be registered with the state in which they are conducted and I don't believe they (or the IRS) allows "for profit" raffles, but I could be wrong.

Some states have raffle license. Revenuers will go bust bars for not having them once in awhile.

Yeah, I'm not sure how he goes about this or the details relative to getting a salvaged title registered, but I know he gets bikes from Copart, fixes them up with new parts and paint and raffles them off. Maybe he just makes $$ off of the hats and his YT content.
