I have one other story about Doc Harley. My GF was having problems with her clutch on that same 883 (post #11). We made a call down to Doc Harley who of course diagnosed the problem, over the phone, as a bad spring plate. He then gave me step by step instructions on how to relace it and even offered to send me his spring compressor tool so I could do the job. I don't think you'll find many people who would offer to lend a tool to somebody from NY that they had only met once before. He's just that one of a kind person that I was lucky to have met. I hope he enjoys his retirement for years to come .... he earned it.

I don't think Doc Harley at Low Country is the same as Steve "Doc" Hopkins.

Yep, Doc Harley is not old enough for that race history. Google says Hopkins owns a Wisconsin HD dealer

He is just north of me. And the dealership is an amazing place to visit. His daughter is also one heck of a drag racer. He built the time line Harley and more strange stuff than you can dream of.

Wow..... Good for Doc (am I allowed to call him that?) very informative Guy, I liked watching his stuff. hopefully he has many years to enjoy retirement.
