Went for a ride to the Infantry museum.
It is very humbling. To all who served, thank you!
Wow! Thanks for the pics. My dad's father was in the infantry in World War One. This made me think of him. He was both shot, and mustard gassed while he was serving in combat over there, but fortunately made it home to meet my grandmother.

Love that place. The statue is Iron Mike. The EIB and CIB (CIB 1st award wreath additional awards stars) are Kentucky rifles on blue field of honor. Why is the sky blue? Because God loves the Infantry. True Blue was first time go's on all lanes. Harmony Church Aumni and 1/507, 1/504 and 1/506 PIRs
I was also a Harmony Church grad....I loved it so much I went back a few years later for Ranger school (the RTB was about a quarter mile from my old basic training barracks).
Many years ago we had a day in between training at the rifle range on Ft Benning. The LT said we would go to the museum for the morning, then liberty in the afternoon. He and I were looking over the WWII displays and I commented that I had that exact sword my dad brought back from Germany in WWII. He asked why I had it, I said it is a reminder of who the USA fought and why we fought. I still have it and a few other items from then.
