You bet. Lots of us have. If your dealer is trying to get more than MSRP, go to a different dealer. In the midwest, every dealer I checked with was dealing a year ago already, before the glut of bikes.

We got a black pearl bike at basic black price (last '06 in stock on June 21, 2006). A good friend bought a Road King at MSRP in May of '06at the same dealer, and got a $500 coupon for free accessories.

MSRP here. Just watch the additional charges. Had 2 dealers quote me MSRP but there was over a $1000 difference in final price. Needless to say, I went with the lower one! [8D]

Also, read all the threads about warranties, etc. Apparently there is a lot of wiggle room in what dealers will charge for the extended warranty, and/or interest rates !

Paid almost $2k under MSRP on an '07 Heritage at the first of August. With taxes and everything out the door it was under $19k total. I didn't buy it, but the extended 5 year warranty was $995 (on sale) and was offered to me at $1195 two weeks later when I went it to pick up some accessories. A friend bought an '07 Softail Custom a week before and got almost as good of a deal. He did buy the extended warranty for the price quoted above.

Seems that much of the discussion on this forum has been about some dealers still charging MSRP and maybe more. I'm thinking some of the folks in Florida have complained of such. So I guess it depends on where you are in the world.

Harley is currently officially in sales slump and has cut back production of US models. It's now a buyer's market.

Default RE: MSRP?

MSRP stands for manufacturers suggested retail price. Or in other words full price. If you pay more than that and there are no other extras on the bike you are getting ripped off. Some dealers will sell at less than MSRP in order to increase their sales volume, make room for new models or move inventory before they have to start paying interest on their floor plan. Best thing to do is to shop around to see who is willing to deal.
