safety is Paramount especially when working alone . You can push an ultra around in a garage all day long on this Jack
You have to use C-Clamps to hold the bike frame to the jack?

$390 26 years ago, that thing cost more than a J&S! Yikes.

@02fx

I also have a Dunwell Jack that I purchased years ago (late 1990's) and the same thing happened to mine. I'm guessing the glue they used to attach the rubber to the jack reacted with engine oil. Re-glue the rubber with Shoe Goo.

What was great about the Dunwell Jacks is that they had an actual Use and Care Guide and a How To Guide, which you can still find a copy here.

I wonder why the Dunwell Jack Company is no longer? We all know the reason J&S Jacks went out of business (terrible management and dishonest practices). But the question remains.....why isn't there at least ONE SUPERIOR QUALITY motorcycle jack on the market? Not just some "OK" or "better than nothing" devices but a real solid "the very best built" motorcycle jack out there.

I know HD, years ago used to market a "so-so" model with a HD logo, obviously made by another company, but you'd think HD could revisit that and sell a truly HIGH QUALITY jack designed to safely and stably lift and move one of their motorcycles. Especially since if designed right they'd have zero US competition and could sell it at their dealerships.

What I read was that the owner got sick and fairly quickly passed away. It was a family operated business and they decided to close it rather than continue without him.
