LMFAO!!! That is fuvking fantastic, I love it!

The funny thing is that with few exceptions I bet I can guess the age of each forum member bitching about AI. But I digress, the post was supposed to be FUN not a debate and @GalvTexGuy gets it.

This was very entertaining! Fun Fact: I didn't know there were five-handed gremlins out there!

Haven't used it though it's pretty funny. Some of my friends have. They say it's kind of accurate. Wonder if the web site reads cookies on your computer to get info what you spend time doing.

I'm disappointed in the lack of 12pt ARP fasteners

It does not. It's "knowledge" of me is based on our prior conversations, you can see in my image that we talk programming a majority of the time.

Too funny! That's actually related to the above, I've never asked anything about ARP's, maybe I should learn more?

I learned some new things today, complete with citations.

ARP stands for Automotive Racing Products, a U.S.-based company that specializes in high-strength, precision-engineered fasteners—especially bolts and studs used in engines and other critical automotive applications. They’re widely respected in the motorsports and performance-engine enthusiast world because of how they’re made and the very demanding environments they’re designed to survive. (arp-bolts.com)

🔩 What ARP Fasteners Are

ARP produces premium bolts, studs, nuts, and complete fastener kits used for:
  • Cylinder head studs and bolts
  • Main and rod studs
  • Intake, exhaust, and accessory bolts
  • Drivetrain and chassis fasteners
These aren’t ordinary hardware store parts—they’re built for high-stress, high-vibration applications typical in racing, boosted engines, and heavy-duty performance builds. (Hagerty)

🛠️ History & Reputation

The company was founded in 1968 by Gary Holzapfel after recognizing that conventional bolts frequently failed in racing engines. ARP quickly became known for fasteners that could withstand significantly higher loads and fatigue than standard hardware, and today supplies teams from grassroots racers to professional series like Formula 1, NASCAR, IndyCar and NHRA. (arp-bolts.com)

⚙️ Why They’re Special

High strength and precision engineering:
  • ARP uses premium alloys like 8740 chrome-moly, ARP2000Ž, Custom Age 625+, and other exotic materials tailored for strength and fatigue resistance. (arp-bolts.com)
  • Threads are rolled after heat treatment, which greatly increases fatigue strength compared to cut threads. (arp-bolts.com)
  • Manufactured with tight tolerances and rigorous quality controls, including in-house heat-treating and testing. (arp-bolts.com)
Clamping power and reliability:
  • ARP fasteners produce consistent preload (tension) when torqued, essential to keep components like cylinder heads or rod caps firmly clamped without loosening. (arp-bolts.com)
  • Special assembly lubricants (like ARP Ultra-TorqueŽ) are used to get accurate torque readings and consistent clamping. (Alibaba)

🏁 Common Uses

  • Performance and race engines: ARP studs and bolts are often used instead of stock hardware because they better handle high RPMs, boost pressure, and thermal cycling. (Hagerty)
  • Engine rebuilds and upgrades: Enthusiasts and builders often replace OEM bolts with ARP ones to prevent fastener stretch and maintain long-term durability. (Alibaba)
  • Marine and industrial applications: Due to corrosion resistance and high strength, ARP fasteners are also used outside automotive in harsh environments. (Alibaba)

❗ Counterfeits & Quality Considerations

Because of their reputation, counterfeit or look-alike fasteners exist on the market. Genuine ARP fasteners are marked with the ARP name and alloy specification (e.g., “ARP2000”) and are made in the USA—so it’s important to buy from authorized dealers to avoid low-quality knockoffs. (thecounterfeitreport.com)
In short: ARP fasteners are high-strength, precision bolts and studs designed for racing and high-performance engines where ordinary hardware could fail. They’re built with premium materials and advanced processes that give them greater strength, fatigue resistance, and reliability in extreme conditions. (arp-bolts.com)

I'd never played with ChatGPT, but I'm at work procrastinating on some important projects, so this seemed as good of a time as any to give it a go.

The video game controller doesn't make any sense as I'm not a gamer and I'm fairly sure I have normal length legs, but otherwise this isn't too bad. Took me a couple tries to figure it out, the first 2 didn't make any sense at all.
