My old lightweight elkskin gauntlets I'd found in an old outfitters supply in the backcountry early 90's gave it several years back. I wanted the softer feel and durability of elk hide with external stitching for the fit and comfort factor. Was finding nothing worth my money till I happened across working ranch hands good's. Bull riders gloves, aren't cheap or off the shelf, they make to your specs. These will outlive me by a good margin. Most comfortable gloves I've ever owned.

Most of the time I wear fingerless mechanic's gloves that have some padding in the palms.

My hands are big. Glove sizes are weird. I need a XXL in HD gloves, but have actually bought L gloves from other sources a few times. Call me a deer/elkskin guy when it comes down to comfort and abrasion resistance. Deer, elk and goat leathers all have extreme flexibility and maximum toughness. Lee Parks and Fox Creek deerskins are a joy to wear; especially their outseam styles. I've got no use for the plasticky big-knuckle things which are popular with ADV riders.

If I had to buy ONE pair of gloves and know they would be perfect instantly with no break-in, that would be Lee Parks.

Seems like 70-80% of the higher priced performance gloves have the goofy knuckle plastic which I found to be nothing but movement restricting and to be avoided. If someone has a pair with the hard knuckles that still allows free full grip movement I'd be interested to hear it. To the guy who posted the Harbor Freight $3.99 set - 👍👍

Our local Cycle Gear has crazy close out prices on gloves every once in a while. I've got some great deals for me and the wife

My Ebay unlined USA elk skin gloves are perfect, natural color for visibility.
These were too cheap to believe, bought a second pair.
Never used the $Fox Creek pair I had bought previously.

If I lived in FL I would go to bass pro shop and get a pair of shooting gloves. They are light and a good fit, I use them in the summer and spring around here in PA.
