as long as you aren't wearing colors, don't sweat it. i live in san antonio and frequent many of the same places that they hang out. they won't bother you, or your wife, unless you do something to provoke them. most of the time, they won't even acknowledge you.
If you see any of them hangin out at a bar or even at their club house, just go on up to where their scooters are parked and sit on one of them, sidesaddle, then look at them with a sweet smile on your face and just hold the pose for a few minutes.
