I like a Skid Lid on weekends, have a Daytona 1/2 with a shield for bug season and cool weather and I have a HD full face for below 30, which I hate. If I had a choice.... dew rag only! Tim
Nolan N-100. Flip up front, lots of color choices, excelent venting. Comes with a antifog visor insert, chin seal and breath guard. The liner is removable and washable. This helmet tested best at Motorcycle Consumer News. Oh and it was relatively cheap. Price matched from Dennis Kirk $179.00, no shipping and no sales tax. DOT approved.
Also have a shorty for close trips and grocery getting.
Dog ate helmet and chaps last night so I dug a hole for the dog and ordered a helmet from daytona helmets what is that crap that they will contact me for payment instructions thats un herd of.
I am old enough to know that I am not immortal (unlike the days of my youth)! I always wear a helmet and thereby am prepared - have full face for colder weather; have a 3/4 for spring/fall and have a shorty for summer.
I wear a HD full-face helmet. I've been down once (long ago and with a full-face helmet) and after one look at that helmet I'm a believer. I will always wear a full-face helmet. I don't trust the cagers enough to think It can't happen again.
high speed is always a full face shoei RF 1000 or one of my older X-9's
Mostly worn when riding the ZRX.
Passengers always wear full faced RF-1000 ( one of the GF's has her own Nolan full face,) regardless of what we go out on.
local riding within 5 miles of the shop, especially when hot I will take the risk and wear a half helmet. I try not to get too crazy when I use that one as it affords little protection.
BTW Massachusetts is a manditory helmet state. If I am in NH say at Hampton Beach or up in Laconia, or the Kangamangus the lids come off so long as the weather is nice and sanity is the word of the day.
I've been down hard a couple of times and try to dress for the risk. I have a Joe Rocket mesh jacket I got this last season with the kevlar inserts that is nice in the warm weather. Sure beats that 25 pound leather I normally wear.

I've got a Bell Shorty, but I am thinking about a Caberg Justissimo. It is a modular helmet with a smoked visor that flips down inside of the clear visor. You can flip the smoked visor up and down with a lever on the outside of the helmet. It kind of like a fighter pilot's helmet.
