I ride alone most of the time. I equally enjoy solo and group riding. I can set my own pace and do my own thing while solo riding and I also enjoy being around my ridin' friends too.
Wow, this thread got a lot of hits...I was surprised. Let me add some more thoughts: I just got an email from a from an old co-worker. He was askin if I wanted to hook up with a few guys and go to Myrtle Beach for the fall rally. I will politely decline his invite, but in my mind I was thinking not just no...but HELL NO! All sorts of crazies, cops up the ***, traffic jams, always a couple of bikers killed every year as a result of somebodys stupid actions, not my scene! I love heading down to Myrtle, wheather its a golf outing or a bike trip but never during the busy season.
Last summer, one weekend, I went to Deals Gap with a couple of friends. Rice rocket wannabe Ninjas all over. Sports carsracing around...it was ok. I have been back a couple of time since then. Solo trips sun, mon tues instaed of the weekends. Last fall (early December) I stayed in Maggie Valley, and again this spring. AMAZING, beautifull serene, soul cleansing. Maybe I am anti-social or was a mountain man in a previous life.
Sounds normal to me,,,,I ride alone alot,,,back and forth to work,,,,like a seesaw,,,running my rut....
Nuthing beats running wit a bro,,,bar to bar(handlebar),,,toe to toe,,thumping as one.....
I say roll wit your friends,,,run hard run fast,,,the crazy's wont catch ya....
Sorry still running hot,,,gonna take me a week to come down http://www.russellhillchoppers.com/dammbutton.jpg http://www.russellhillchoppers.com/bloodinbloodout.jpg
I usually like riding solo, but enjoy riding with others as well. I ridden with some of the folks on this forum and that has always been fun. The good thing about riding with a group or another rider is you have someone to talk to or hang with. Riding solo you it is just you and your thoughts.
I use to feel nonchalant about rallys, until I went to one. Had a great time. You should do Myrtle Beach. You might like it and just because others act like idiots does not mean you have to.
Ride safe.
