A place similar to jiffy lube but bikes only? Oil and tranny fluid changes, filters, check other fluids and tire pressures, etc. Skilled bike mechanics not high schools kids. Lounge area to visit and have snacks and beverages while you wait. No appointments necessary. 30 to 40 minute turn around time on service. First come first server. Thank you for your input.

I would, but I doubt you could run a successful biz doing so, not enough bikes.

I would. Why mess w/a pain the butt oil change for a MC yourself and why go pay the stealership price and potentially lose the bike for a couple of days.

I agree wtih Kolni, probably not enough bikes to keep a business a float. So, what I would do is have a business that does all vehicles. However, for bikes, keep a dedicated lane. Try to pull in the bikesaway from the dealerships. The probably wouldn't be toohard. Heck, HD warranties are so short, it'snot like you need to constantly get your service done by them to keep from voiding your warranty. If they bring you their bike and like you, they may bring their truck and their wife's minivan, and theirteenage daiugthers hoopty, etc.

I won't even use them for my old truck. NO FLIPPIN WAY!

I won't let the "techs" at the dealer touch my bike though.

Exactly! Besides it takes 15 minutes in my garage and I KNOW everything was done right.

I might be inclined to use one in a pinch~ I prefer to do my own servicing, but if it came down to just being lazy, basicallynot wanting to deal with it at the time.. I would go to this type of place before taking it to the stealership~

I'd use it if I knew that the work was done properly.

One problem that goes along with the idea that there aren't enough bikes to sustainsuch abusiness is that for the bikes that do show up for service, you'd have to charge a small fortune in order to stay in business, so it's no longer economically feasible for the consumer.

However, if someone could do it like you suggest, do the work right AND not try to bone me out of enough cash to make his next month's Mercedes payment, I'd go for it.
But nowadays, car oil change joints are charging $35-$45 and using no-name filters. And God help you if you take a 4WD in there- they chargeextra even if it doesn't take more oil than a 2WD. (Been there, done that, got boned.) [:@]

One just opened up here in Tucson, a chain called Bikers Bay and had a friend that needed a new tube in a tire on his DG and they charged him 21 bucks and was in and out in less than 20 mins. Yes i think there is a good chance for making it do well.

I wouldn't use one on my bike- I like doing that myself, but I have found a reliable oil change place for the car and I just run by at lunch.
