Yeah, when I started, almost 30 years ago, the older guys ate a lot of donuts and most smoked. The younger, more health conscious guys tended to avoid both. Now, very few cops eat donuts around here and even fewer smoke cigarettes. However, coffee is still a big hit, and a lot of the younger guys are into chew (flavored Skoal).
Bro those patches are classic. Only you and our fellow LEO's now the razzing we take any time you pull the cruiser into a Double D to get a cup of joe. I even started avoiding the place and started going to Starbucks (the coffee is free there also and it tastes better.) I work in Frederick Maryland about 40 miles north of D.C. Let me know if your coming to the 2006 Law Ride we can get together and have a cup and police some donuts.
Good patch, I have the sticker right in the center of the rear of my helmet that says, Bad Cop, No Donut. And I am a retired cop from the NYPD Highway Patrol Motorcycle Unit. I love stuff like that! Keep it up. Stay safe!
