Default beer and bikes

Hey guys and gals
Just wondering.....what are your standards on drinking and riding your scoot? I have seen many a rider drink one, two or more and ride their bike. Some wait an hour or so, some don't. Not looking to slam anyone here, just curious about other people's thoughts.
Thanking you in advance.
Ride Safe

Absolutely not....when I'm finished riding for the day and bike is parked, then I'll have a beer or two. I've seen clubs who ride from bar to bar...what fun that is. NOT. Don't ride with folks who drink and ride either.

I will not drink more than two if we stop for lunch or something, if we go out and are going to be out we usually start early, stop drinking and still have a couple of hours to loose what buzz we might have...drink coffee or soda and wait it out...I am not comfy riding with a buzz at night, it has happened a few times and will prolly happen again.

I must say.....that I have drank and ridden. Not the brightest thing for some to do....
but I say that if you "MAINTAIN".....it can be done safely.
One drink an hour is a good starting point, but if you do not know what your
limit is......you may want to abstain. Do not drink beyond your limit.
Some are going to say "Zero tolerance" and I hear ya.
I say going for pizza and a beer is as good as it gets.
As for me? I maintain.

I'm a licensed private pilot, and I treat my bike like I would an aircraft--eight hours bottle to throttle. Both the bike and the airplane are incredibly unforgiving of any carelessness, incapacity, or neglect--to a much greater degree than a four-wheel vehicle. Just my $1.98's worth....

So far haven't drank anything and rode. Still a novice I like coming back after the ride and knowing I will not be out again having several beers. I can go to bike nights and drink cokes plenty of girls to look at takes your mind off the beer

Agreed, a beer an hour is a pretty good way to "maintain". Although if you're heavier you can go a little more, but a beer an hour is the safe bet. And I try to keep it at 2...3 if I'm at the place a while.
