If you bike had a 125cc engine with all that show, then I think you would have a problem. But even a stock HD engine has serious torque and can pull you, your passenger, a full load and even a trailer up a hill while accelerating.

I'm determined to modify my 883, but still haven't located a source for quieter mufflers and a finer air filter element to rein in the power. Guess I'll just ride it instead.

Just go riding, and don't worry about others opinions. there is plenty of time for mods if thats the way you want to go.

Speaking of plenty of time for mods,my `91 Heritage has been getting modded for the past 17 years. I say I`m done now but winter will be here soon and I`ll probably look at it and say Ah Hell maybe I`ll just do....T
