"JCTulsa"
"cj, do you always take things so literally?
Yes I do, when I read, was is stated.
"JCTulsa"
"No, the bike wasn't a piece of junk"
["JCTulsa"]
[But, I don't think I'll stop thinking about how loud and sweet that old piece of junk sounded and felt.]
Your words, not mine
"JCTulsa"
."No, it didn't have rust all over it."
Since I don’t have the talent of OBE seeing things I never saw, I assume it didn’t have rust, so don’t assume I did, you mention rust I never did.
"JCTulsa"
"If my bike was damaged because I kept the idle rpm below 1,000 so what. That's the way I wanted it."
Incredible
"JCTulsa"
"The 2 or 3 mile thing didn't mean it coughed, sputtered, spitted and backfired all that time. It meant it didn't idle as smooth and hesitated on throttle roll-on until it got some heat in the engine. Different from the 05 UC with fuel injection. "
["JCTulsa"]
["I miss having to nurse the thing the first 2 or 3 miles until it would run right."]
you didn’t state, that it was just when it was COLD ? or should I have known that ?
"JCTulsa"
"Get it? Man, you miss-read the intentions of my post completely. All I was saying was that I'm getting used to a new bike and I knew the other one from riding it for 2 years."
Maybe you where not completely clear what you written down ? I usually miss nothing, but it’s possible, lets see if I have it, I read what you put down, it’s an easy system, post, write, read, respond or is it something else, I am missing ? btw- if you want to use "intentions" please mark them by number [1] (in place) and add them to the bottom of the post, this style works very well.
"JCTulsa"
" Like I know my wife of 17 years. I could point out the things that she does that drives me crazy. Would that mean she's not the most important thing in my life? No."
The subject is a motorcycle, not your wife.
"JCTulsa"
" And for the Low Rider being a beast on the highway what I meant was that it had short bars and forward controls. I'm 5'8" and that wasn't a good fit for me. Low Riders are great. I'd take another one in a heartbeat. I would change out the bars for something with more reach but I would love another one. That was the point of my initial post."
[left][color=#0000cc]But that was not stated on your pos

ok granted. the only issue, I have,is that your search of and thus sharingyour opinion of "the truth" seems abrasive andmentally unecessary.

I had a late '84 Roadster that was stolen in 1999. Was not comfortable on long rides, but on short ones and around town, it was a blast. It was quick in town, fast on the highway, and handle most curves with ease. If I had to pick between my Softail or my Roadster, I would go with the Roadster. But, since I can't, I will enjoy the Custom.

It’s for the people, who in speaking of "mentally" it is necessary for them to understand, who don’t get it, or who do get it, but don’t like the style it was presented ?
It’s layout very simple IMO, we can go back and forth about "what is truth" line of crap all day, it’s in the eye of the holder etc., such philosophical banter is ok for something’s, but when something is in black and white, off or on, start doesn’t start, is at issue, well I tend to take that route, maybe it’s the field I am in, there are some who think it’s ok to see every point has "two sides", I personally think that’s a lot of crap also.
I believed I layout out my side of this post, why don’t you give me another way to look at it, ? with what I had to "go with", maybe I did miss something ?

Shame that your ride was stolen, I wouldn’t wish that fate on anyone, not surprise that you miss the Roaster on how it handled, glad you like your Custom, am I to say more, since you address this too me. ?
Ride safe,

Man I had the finest 07 Wide Gide a dude could ask for. It had all the horsepower and torque you could stand. Had about everything on it you could put on it. It was just the old lady and me keep going farther and farther away from the house and coming home realy beat up. Went to the dealer and tried out a EGS that they pulled off the showroom floor. Man what a different ride. The air shocks and the fairing makes the bike ride so smoothe. I had to trade my WG in on the EGS. It nearly killed me when I went back to the dealership and seen it, same thing with the wife. But I don't think I could go back. The ride is too nice on the electra glide

Almost succumbed to temptation recently and traded my 84 FXST Evo on a 07 Ultra.. Glad it didn't happen. I'm just not ready for a "GEEZER GLIDE" yet. Strange, when your sitting in a parking lot of new IRON and you park the 84 there it always seems to draw alot of attention from the "older riders". Questions like "How'd you mount the kick starter on the EVO?", kinda give me that little chuckle inside. Its great to get the compliments from people who still like the old iron. Riding it still gives me that feeling of what riding a HD is all about. Yeah, its lacking all the "NEW TECHNOLOGY" but I still love being able to do virtually anything I want mechanically in my own garage. To each their own, thats what makes us a unique group. Remember, 20 grand and 200 miles don't necessiarily make you a biker.

Been riding since 64. Didn't pay 20 grand, Do ride over 200 miles all the time. Loved working on my old 64 Pan head. Problem is one day you just git old and need some comfort so you can keep up with the younger crowd when out riding. Dang it sux's gitting old.
